These embroideries are heavily influenced by traditional quilts but are decidedly contemporary. A random grid is sewn on a piece of hand-dyed silk. Each space is embroidered without a predetermined pattern or palette. When a space is intersected, the stitch direction and color change. The edges are machine bound and each piece is mounted in a frame.
